Hlegions
There's always someone playing with the numbers of us
with the HL thing.
Hlow Numbers
Let's face it -- there aren't a whole lot of us. Here's
were I try to estimate the number and the distribution
around the USA and the rest of the world.
Just how many of us are there?
I figure there are about 3,000 families in America with
HL's in their names, comprising about 25,000 to 35,000
people. So, there's not a whole lot of us.
Here's some interesting information on our numbers:
Two Hlavac's in Louisiana --
me and some guy named Mike up near Baton Rouge.
34 Hlavac's that I found on ICQ
257 Hlavac's on an old Anywho.com directory
24 Hlavac's found in a Yahoo search
Nearly 100 HL names found at switchboard.com
That's not even 500 Hlavacs -- and no doubt some are
dublicates in the various hlists. Though, also true, it may
not have counted any number of Hlavacs.
One genealogy website I went to recently said that
Hlavac is the 56,500th some odd most common name in
America. Now, how on earth could you possibly determine
that? Yikes. All I do know is that I'll be adding more info
as to our Hlow Numbers as I go search the internet for us.
Every time I'm in another city I try to check out a phone
book to see how many HL names there are listed. At most
I find just two or three. But often there are none. And it's not
until you get to certain cities that the numbers begin to
increase.
I guess one of my goals is to contact every single HL
in the nation. It's an odd goal, but hey, at least it keeps me
out of trouble.
