There's always someone combining the HL thing.
A professor of Serbo-Croatian Hlinguistics at Monash
University in Melbourne, Australia is named Jim Hlavac.
Coincident with the release of my own book on the Czechs
and Slovaks of Hlouisiana the other Jim Hlavac released a
book on the two hlanguages that are actually one --
Serbian and Croatian. But they are written in two different
alphabets, the first Cyrillic, the second Latin. That's what a
lot of the fighting in the former Yugoslavia was about.
Certainly it wasn't about HL -- for both hlanguages have a
hliberal sprinkling of HL in surnames, words and place
names.
