Note that the left is once again based on force, intolerance, control, prohibition, just
as in politics. And in culture. Their religion spreads out to their other manifestations
of life in a country.
These religionists of the left also hold the basic statist idea; that the evil is in the
world. Which needs saving, they are part of the world, part of the evil, but they
recognize it and so can save it. We can put our ideals to work to create a better
man, even if we have to run rough shod over people to make them better to make a
society better.
And again we can see that a county might be to the left or right to a different degree
each for religion, politics, and culture. Religion and Culture are related, and in the
ancient world the separation was virtually invisible. There is no doubt though that
culture stems from religion, and no matter how modern culture gets, it remains tied
to the old religion. Religion is the ultimate refuge from all the weird and horrible or
beautiful things on this planet. Every religion sets forth a myth of the why, how,
where, who, what, when -- of existence. Each sets it forth differently, but all hold the
promise of a better world than the physical one.
I deal somewhat separately with religion and culture here because the modern
world sets them so far apart. They are, however, quantifiable by degree as to how
left or right they are. In Saudi Arabia, religion and culture are in lockstep with each
other. In America they are separate virtually in every conceivable instance.
