There is a concept in the western world that states that cultures have the right to
exist -- and totally ignore the individuals who live within those cultures. There is
this "travel to exotic places" mentality which views the ancient ways as 'cute' and
'interesting.' Not one of these armchair travellers would ever want to live in
these cultures, but they consign the individuals there to a brutish life. Why? So
that the culture might live?
People leave cultures all the time, immigration it's called. But a culture
never got up and moved to a new land.
