Vistas de la Ciudad
Jim Hlavac
Mazatlan, Mexico
The first time I lived in the city
I rented the second floor of
this building on Covarrubias
Street. I had to climb those
spiral stairs every day.  At
night I could hear the ocean
waves which were barely a
football field away.
This is the view from my
balcony. Other than the wires
strung for electricity it was a
rather spectacular view. On
clear days I could see the
Sierra Madre Mountains in the
distance.
The two towers on the horizon
are the cathedral's at Plaza
Republica.
And the cruise ship in the
photo above was one of many
that called at the port each
week.  In the photo is seems so
far away, but in life, the ships
looked so close you could
touch them.
