Here's the west
side of the Plaza
Machado, the
original square
of the old city,
and through
which I passed
daily, often
several times a
day. It was
nearly always
filled with people,
but I took the
pictures early
Sunday morning.
Here's the east
side of Plaza
Machado, and
every day I
walked under
the yellow
blooming trees
so that I could
get to where I
played piano 5
nights a week --
at Restaurant
El Memorial.
The red
building on the
left is the city
music high
school,
attached to the
famous Theatro
Peralta, across
from which is
the piano place.
