Fundraising with Jim Hlavac's Music
I was given the talent to endlessly create new music.
That is, I can sit down and create wholly formed new music for
hours on end.
Now, I can create an hour (give or take a few minutes) long CD
of my piano music, freshly created, composed and improvised
especially for your organization.
And you can use this CD as a fundraising tool. You can sell it
or you can use it as a gift for donors.
Potential Revenue for your organization:
You can have copies made for less than $3.00 each, and if you order in sufficient
numbers you can drive the cost down to $3.00. There are hundreds of CD
copying services around the country, each will have their own process and costs.
Here are two examples:
You make 1000 copies for $2.00 each -- or $2,000, plus the $1,000 to Jim Hlavac.
Plus about $500 to create the artwork. Your total cost is $3,500. You sell the
900 copies (100 retained for your archives, given as gifts and the 20 copies to
Jim Hlavac) of the CD at $15 each -- earning $13,500. Thus you have a $10,000
revenue gain for your institution. It would not be unreasonable to charge $20
for the CD -- thus increasing your revenues.
Of course, you can make a second set of 1000 copies when you sell out the first
set, and thus you will save the $1,000 payment to Jim Hlavac and the $500 to
create the artwork.
You make 2,500 copies of the CD at $1.00 each -- $2,500 cost, plus $1,000 to Jim
Hlavac, plus $500 for the artwork -- for a total cost for $4,000. You sell 2,400
copies for $20 each for total of $48,000, or a revenue gain of $44,000.
