The French complain about The United States military around the world, but are silent
about the thousands of French troops stationed around the former French Colonial world,
usually helping to prop up corrupt failed states repressing their people. With the Gallic
shoulder shrug of C'est La Vie, the French are willing to let abominable leaders continue
their misrule. Because they are at heart in league with the statist ideas that these despots
use. The French are still not wholly removed from the idea of the Divine Right of Kings that
Louis XIV stated so succinctly: L'etat c'est moi -- I am the state.
