Learn the basics of mixing tunes with DJ and audiophile @stimbo_____
DJ controller and speaker set up will be provided. This is a beginner exploratory gathering so feel free to come as you are and learn with us!
If you are already a tad familiar with DJing and want to join us, you are welcome to bring your own open format USB or computer plug in!
This workshop is by and for the creative and intellectual women and femmes.
Topics included in workshop:
Intro to my personal music journey and a short discussion on how to express yourself through the art of sound selecting.
Mini tour of controls on an AlphaTheta XDJ-AZ
Beginner explanation of beat matching and bpm’s
Introduction on how to compile music, curate playlists, and USB drive organization.
Hands on play time with dj controller-beat matching songs and transitioning.
we will have a usb stick loaded with chill house music that will be easy to mix if you don’t have your own usb stick. If you plan to bring your own usb stick, make sure your music files are in FAT, FAT32, exFAT, or HFS+ USB storage formats.

Learn some sewing basics with @phoenixsewingclub
Bring one or more thrifted tops or clothing pieces and give them a new life for your next occasion... date night, dinner with friends, a concert, birthday plans, or wherever you want to wear it out. We’ll brainstorm, cut, alter, embellish, and flip secondhand finds into something that feels like you.
A limited number of sewing machines will be available, so please bring your own machine if you have one. Beginners are absolutely welcome! Come ready to experiment, learn, and transform a thrifted find into something uniquely yours!
